Thank you for 20 years and one million dollars raised.

Because of the success of the Bone Marrow Foundation of San Diego, testing is available to anyone willing to be added to the NMDP registry and agree to donate marrow to a patient needing a transplant. Bone Marrow transplants offer the only possible cure for many patients with leukemia and other serious blood disorders.

Ironman Golf Tournament

The goal of the Bone Marrow Foundation of San Diego's yearly Ironman Golf Tournament is to raise the funds needed to continue adding potential donors to the National Marrow Donor Program's (NMDP) registry thereby increasing the chances of saving lives.

Golfers raise funds by recruiting financial pledges for each hole played or a flat rate. The tournament is held on or very close to the longest day of the year- so almost 14 hours of daylight is available. As a result, each participant plays a minimum of 100 holes.

Help People Like Janet

Janet was only 25 when she was diagnosed with chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML). Active and healthy, she couldn't believe this was happening to her.

Available treatments, including bone marrow transplantation, were described to her, but she put off making a decision and coasted along for a year.

As her condition became more serious, it was apparent some type of treatment was needed.
